Never Summer’s reputation of quality and durability began in the early years of snowboarding. Designing and building snowboards since 1983 has given us years of experience in testing and perfecting our snowboard designs and construction methods. The end result of our experience coupled with a close working relationship with the world’s leading raw materials manufacturers and engineers allows us to bring you the most durable, high performance boards on the planet!

Since 1995, The Board Room has been a cornerstone of the snowboard and skateboard community — one of the few remaining legacy snow/skate shops in the Northwest. It’s with heavy hearts that we announce we’ll be closing our doors this fall.
This decision was not made lightly. After 27 years, our landlords recently informed us that they will not be renewing our lease and have listed the building for sale. Unfortunately, with no prior notice, we were left with little time to secure a new location before winter inventory starts arriving. Despite exploring every option, we’ve come to the difficult conclusion that closing is our best path forward.
Starting next week (August 1st), we’ll begin winding down operations with an inventory sale running over the next 8 weeks. For now, our store hours and days of operation will remain the same.
We’re incredibly grateful for the friendships, community, and support we've built together over the past three decades. Our customers, employees, and partners have become extended family — and we feel deeply honored to have shared so many unforgettable moments with you.
We invite you to stop by, say hello, throw a high five, grab some amazing storewide deals, and reminisce with us about the good ole days. We’d love to see you.
Thank you for 30 amazing years, Boise. It’s been an honor and an incredible ride — we’ve truly lived the dream.

The must have kept this Aprils Fools post in the archives and posted it by accident…...right? 😭
When I was an unruly teenager making bad decisions I stole a hat from The Boardroom. They could have pressed charges or banned me from coming back. They did neither, and saw the situation for exactly what it was. They told me to come in and volunteer to pay for the hat and I could come in and shop again. I did exactly that and have been shopping there ever since. The Boardroom taught me a lesson in accountability and forgiveness that alot of people never learn. Thank you for the 27 years and thank you for going easy on a troubled kid having a hard time with life. Ill never forget yall boardroom or the lessons learned.
One of the few board shops that actually cared about its riders and I always felt stoked interacting with Chris and the staff. Although I'm not in Boise anymore I'm really going to miss visiting. Thanks Chris for the great years!
I moved back to my hometown of Boise during COVID and decided to take up longboarding to help my snowboarding; the staff there, from the young kids to the 20 somethings to the owner and her son - everyone treated me like I belonged and like they really genuinely wanted to help me. They help me learn how to wax my own boards and also waxed my boards before international trips. I always thought this place was something that represented the good ‘ole days of Boise and that I would be lucky to get to live near and shop there someday. It’s been a great five years. I guess it’s true what they say: you can’t ever go home again.
Got my first snowboard outer wear set up here 24 years ago I still have and use the Dakine Day tripper back pack thanks guys for being a staple for so long
Man your shop was a staple to the snowboarding community in Boise and surrounding areas. Thank you for the memories and some of the best customer service for kids who usually got shunned in different stores because of stereotypes.
Real talk. Is there a way the business could be saved? I know this isn't a 90's movie but this has real, do a bake sale /downhill jam sesh to save the activity center vibes. Happy to pass the hat if we could save a pillar of our community
I remember watching the resistance premiere in the back, won some volcom socks in a raffle. Thank you guys for being chill with us kids and getting us started with the gnar. I need stickers for my newer boards. Moved from Boise in 2001
this is honestly so sad
About 5 years ago I found myself in a position to want a new skateboard. I went down to your shop knowing it was one of the last real skate shops. Left with a sweet longboard that fit my budget. Skating at 50 years old wasn't like when I was 15... but it was fun. Sorry to see you go. 🙁
Oh how sad. Thank you for all the amazing years! We will not forget you.
Damn the OGs shopped at Newt and heralds
This is so sad. I grew up coming in here, I expected to bring my boys here. Rip to the board room 😞
Is there anything the community could do? We saved DK Donuts.. maybe we could save The Boardroom?
This is incredibly sad. The Board Room is literally the only board shop I've gone where you feel like the staff are genuinely trying to help you any way they can, whether that's getting you the best gear for the lowest price, or just giving you advice on riding styles and adjustments. I don't live in Boise anymore, but will be sure to stop by when we are back in September. Thank you for helping me get into snowboarding 25 years ago!!!
After 27 years you think the landlord would have offered you to purchase the building first/given you ample notice
No sir. This has been the spot. First new boots I bought for myself after highschool. First new board...this needs to be saved somehow.
Thank you Chris, Nate and the Boardroom team for believing in me as a young grom! Your support for the team made for some of the most incredible moments of my life! You will be dearly missed in the valley 🫶🏼
This really sucks. I will truly miss you guys.
Cheers to 27 years! I grew up on 28th street and use to buy all my decks, shoes and boards in jr. high and high school! You guys were always kind to the kid looking at all the stuff he couldn’t afford. 🙏
WTF! This sucks. Sorry to hear this. You guys have always been great.
Thanks for selling awesome stuff and giving so much back to the community. Good luck in your future ventures, or retirement? Hopefully someone steps up and buys this place. It will be missed if it closes forever. 🤘shred on
I remember when u all were on the corner of 30th and state across from Taco John's long time ago dam 25 years ago jeez I'm old to remember this I wish everyone of your employees good luck in the future
Sorry to hear this thanks for all the service you provided I always felt welcomed there
Really gonna miss the Hugh Jass sale. 😢
